About me

Michal Ben Ya’akov (Ph.D., Hebrew University in Jerusalem, 2001) is an Associate Professor of history at the Efrata College of Education, Jerusalem. Her research centers on Jews in 19th and 20th century North Africa and Eretz-Israel/Palestine, and the experiences of women, particularly, but not exclusively, in those communities. She has lectured widely in Israel, the United States and Europe, published over 40 articles and edited four volumes.
